Infant's Death Under Investigation in Pottsville

The death of an infant in Pottsville last week is under investigation.

According to Pottsville Police, on Thursday July 4th, 2024, around 12:10pm, members of the Pottsville Bureau of Police were dispatched to the area of 210 Market Square Apartments in reference to an infant child that was found unresponsive in a bathtub at this complex. 

Upon arrival at this location, Schuylkill EMS were arriving and immediately began performing life saving measures on the tenth month old infant male. 

Schuylkill EMS were able to transport the infant to the LVHN-East campus where he was later pronounced deceased. 

As of July 12th, 2024, the Pottsville Bureau of Police in addition to the Schuylkill County Coroner ‘s office, Schuylkill County Children & Youth Services and the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s office are actively investigating this case.
