Locustdale Woman Arrested After Shooting Inside Her Home

A Locustdale woman is locked up in Columbia County Prison after she shot up her own home on Monday evening.

According to court documents, Ashley Gregis, 41, has been charged with criminal trespass, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, recklessly endangering another person, disorderly conduct, possession, of a weapon, and criminal mischief following the incident that occurred around 9:30pm, on Monday, July 23rd, 2024.

Police say Gregis began firing a handgun inside her home Monday night after she was afraid her family members were going to kill her.  Gregis reportedly began firing into the walls of the home after she heard people outside.

Gregis then went to the 2nd floor of the home, where she began firing an AR-15 style rifle.   She then crawled out a 2nd floor window onto a porch roof, and entered her mother's home, which is attached next door.

State Police from Bloomsburg arrived, entered, the home, and took Gregis into custody.

There were no injuries reported during the incident.

A rifle, handgun, and shell casing were recovered from inside her home.

Bullet holes were found in the walls of Gregis' home as well as neighboring homes.

Gregis was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Doug D. Brewer and locked up on the above charges on $50,000 straight cash bail.

She remains locked up in Columbia County Prison until a preliminary hearing which is scheduled before Judge Brewer on July 30th, 2024.
