Ongoing Police Incident Shuts Down West Race Street in Pottsville

Emergency personnel have been at the scene of an ongoing police incident in Pottsville since early Sunday morning.

As of 8:00am, Sunday, West Race Street is closed from 7th Street to 10th Street for an incident in the 800 block of West Race.

City Police along with a State Police SERT team are at the scene with the Pottsville Fire Department handling the street closures.

The incident has been ongoing since approximately 4:00am, Sunday.

UPDATE:  Fire personnel opened the nearby streets and cleared the scene around 10:00am, Sunday.
