Marvin A. Berger
, 86, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Saturday, June 29th at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill East, Pottsville.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, on September 16, 1937, a son of the late Walter Maynard "Barney" & Suzanne (Matlock) Berger.

Marvin graduated from Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1955. Later, he'd serve the district as a member of the Schuylkill Haven School Board for many years.

Marvin was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, Schuylkill Haven where he served on many committees.

Marvin was an avid car salesman for many years, working for several local dealerships. He retired from Prysmian Cable, formerly Cadillac Cable, in 2003.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Anne (Mull) Berger, sister, Suzanne Lascala, brother-in-law Nick Lascala, and step-daughter, Patti Vasura.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 18 years, Sandra K. Berger, Schuylkill Haven; daughter, Debra Myers (Mike), Maryland; son, Rick "Choc" Berger (Sandi), Schuylkill Haven; step-sons: Douglas Burnhauser (Ellen) and Craig Burnhauser (Heidi); step-daughter Kelly Ney (Alan); 12 grandchildren: Cori Mae Bell (Tommie), Kyle Myers (Kendra), Shane Berger, Cali Jean Berger, Haylee and Hanna Burnhauser, Michael Heintzleman (Wendy), Caleb, Cody, and Madison Vasura, Justine Ney (Josh), and Donald (Michelle); 5 great-grandchildren: Gage Heintzleman, Otto Myers, Beau, and Lottie-June Bell, Addy Roark, and a baby boy Myers due this September.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday July 6, at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Brian Reading officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Carolyn C. Carvalho
, 76, of Orwigsburg, passed away Saturday, June 29th, at Seton Manor.

Carolyn was born in Pottsville on September 11, 1947, a daughter of the late Cecelia B. (Yarish) and William J. Pflueger, Sr.

She was a Blue Mountain High School Graduate, class of 1965 and worked as a health care aide, at Hamburg Center, for over 35 years. Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her Bichons Casey , Kelly and Kylie

Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Stacy Teter Tervo and her partner Marty of Schuylkill Haven,

She is also survived by her grandaughters Jillian and Hannah Tervo as well as her nephew Jeffrey Pflueger.

She was predeceased by her brothers James E. and William J. Pflueger, Jr. and nephew Jerry Pflueger

A Religious Service will be held July 5, 2024 at 11 AM at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc, Orwigsburg. The public is invited to call from 9 AM until the time of service. intermittent will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Charles C. Sharpe R.N., 88 years of age formerly of Coaldale, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, as a guest of Greenwood Nursing Home in Hometown.

Born Saturday, September 14, 1935 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania the son of the late Charles, and Sarah (Coleman) Sharpe.

Charles was a graduate of the former St. Mary's Roman Catholic High School in Coaldale, Charles taught nursing for many years.

Jane M. Cunningham, 79, of Williamstown, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon, surrounded by her family.

Born in Tower City, July 14, 1944, a daughter of the late William and Mildred Schylaske Perkins. She was a graduate of Porter Tower High School and the McCann School of Business.

Jane worked in the local garment factories as a seamstress.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Tower City.

Jane enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and baking. She could often be found watching Hallmark movies, listening to music, or going to yard sales. In her younger years, she loved dancing. She will be remembered for being a very loving and caring person who could always be counted on for support. Her family, especially her grandchildren, was the center of the her world.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Christina Cunningham; brothers, William Jr., Eugene, and Roy Perkins; a sister, Ruth Bowman.

Surviving are her loving husband of 38 years, Ronald E. Cunningham; her son, Eric Ruch (Gail), Wiconisco; stepchildren, Jennifer Davis (James), Florida, and Jamie Burns (Andrew), Harrisburg; eight grandchildren, Broc (Jess), Bret (Brianna), Gabrielle, Caleb, Jadyn, Dominick, Olivia, and Emily; two brothers, Wayne Perkins, Newport, and Joseph Perkins, South Carolina.

Services will be held Friday, July 5, 2024, at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City. Visitation will be from 10-11. Jane will be laid to rest in the Calvary Cemetery, Wiconisco.

Susan I. Moyer, 67, of Pine Grove passed away at her home on Sunday.

Born in Pottsville, September 8, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. Hein and Laverne Keefer Hein.

Susan was a graduate of Pine Grove Area High School in 1974.

Susan worked for many years for Post Precision Castings, Inc., Strausstown. She enjoyed camping over the years with her family. Susan loved and was proud of all of her children and grandchildren and they were the pride of her life as she aged. She will be remembered as an outgoing and loving person. She was always enjoying time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a grandchild, Zachary Moyer.

Susan is survived by her husband Dale R. They had been married 48 years.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Jodi Lynn Derr wife of Neil of Donaldson and Scott Michael Moyer husband to Valerie of Pine Grove. She is survived by 9 grandchildren and a great grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her sister Patsy K. Hein Moyer, wife of the late Gary Moyer of Pine Grove and a brother Robert Hein, husband to Beverly, Cressona and sister Lynn Edling wife of Harold, Orwisburg.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Tuesday the 9th on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Grabowski Funeral Home is entrusted with the services. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Peter’s Evangelical Church, 312 South Tulpehocken Street, Pine Grove, PA 17963 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
