Born in Allentown on September 11, 1962, she was a daughter of the late Bruce & Jean (White) Hassler.
She was the widow of Ronald Melvin Serfass, her husband of 38 years. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2024.
Cathy was a 1980 graduate of Dieruff High School.
She had been formerly employed by The Morning Call. For the last 12 years, Cathy was employed by Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Allentown.
Cathy previously participated in several triathlons. She was also an avid shopper and enjoyed boating.
Cathy is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Steigerwalt, wife of Chris, and father-in-law, Melvin Serfass. She was proud "Grammie" to grandchildren: Landan & Brielle Steigerwalt, and is also survived by her siblings: James Hassler, Tammie Caruso, wife of Carl, & Mark Hassler, fiance of Margaret Serfass, nephew, Brett Knerr, husband of April, niece, Brianna Holmes, wife of Jaroby, great-nephews: Declan, Jayton, & Kai, and sisters-in-law: Donna Plunkett, & Stephanie Lukanoski.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 16th at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, with Pastor Al Bastin officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service.
Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery, Allentown.
Cathy was an animal lover. In lieu of flowers, her family requests contributions in her memory to be forwarded to Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA P.O. Box 332 Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.

Joseph J. Kelly, 53, of Coal Township formerly Ashland passed away Thursday evening July 11, 2024 at home.
Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home Inc, 901 Centre St, Ashland PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Born in Shenandoah on September 12, 1961, to Albert A. Amberlavage and the late Karen Kennedy Amberlavage.
Albert was a veteran of the United States Army. He attended McCann’s, Lehigh Carbon Community College, and trade schools. He was employed as a systems technician for Gould’s Pump and St. Jude Polymer.
Besides his mother, Albert was preceded by his life partner, Mary Lauretta Hardy.
Survivors include his son Albert Amberlavage, his daughter, Kelly Amberlavage, his sister, Denise Delmastro, along with close friends and family of his life partner.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 19th from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Graveside services will immediately follow in the Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights, and will be officiated by Msgr. Ronald Bocian.
