Cheryl spent her early adult years as a wife, mother, and highly involved member of her community. Cheryl volunteered with the Auxiliary of Lutheran Welfare Services, the American Red Cross and Lutheran Brotherhood, as well as supporting various ministries at Christ Lutheran Church in Mahanoy City and Zion Lutheran Church in Tamaqua. She was a dedicated volunteer for her children’s educational and extracurricular activities, particularly supporting the band and theater arts programs. She was also a loving, compassionate caregiver to several family members in their final years.
After her children graduated high school, Cheryl entered the workforce, working at Klingaman’s Inc. and Independent Living Services for several years each before beginning her 22-year tenure as the Office Administrator at Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home. In all her pursuits - home, work and community - Cheryl was meticulous, dependable, and invested in meeting the needs of those around her. Cheryl loved exploring the D&L Trail with her husband, both on foot and on trikes. She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, preparing for and celebrating holidays, baking, doing jigsaw puzzles, caring for family pets, watching movies and attending Iron Pigs games.
Cheryl is predeceased by her mother and father, Doris and Richard; her stepfather, Bill Wenzel; and her brother, Richard W. Snyder. Surviving her are her husband, The Rev. Fred Crawford, III; son, Fred T. Crawford, IV and his family, wife Allison and children Michael, Tor, and Eliza; and daughter, Mary Kathryn Howard and her family, husband Juan and children Jericho and Kalinda.
Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Condolences can be sent to Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, PA 18252. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Cheryl’s honor to: Christ Lutheran Church in Mahanoy City, the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor annual fund, or a favorite charity of your choosing. Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home.

Shirley M. Morgan, 91 of Pottsville, died peacefully Sunday, July 7th at Providence Place, Pottsville.
She was born December 23, 1932, in Pottsville a daughter of the late William L. and Mildred Bentz Muldowney.
She was a 1950 graduate of Pottsville High School.
Shirley was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, where was active in Circle 5, Frieda Hoh, Senior Traveler's and Ding-A-Ling bell choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband Earl A. Morgan, Jr. on September 5, 2001; 2 brothers, William J. and Donald R. Muldowney.
Surviving are 5 sons, Mark Morgan and his wife Sandy Chupkai, Andover, MA; Stephen Morgan and his wife Roxane, Boulder, CO; Bruce Morgan, Vestavia, AL; David Morgan and his wife Susan, Schuylkill Haven; Michael Morgan and his wife Stephanie, Mechanicsburg; 7 grandchildren, Erica, Jessica, Zach, Megan, Ryan, Brianne, Carleigh; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 more on the way. Nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 20th at 11AM from Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10AM-11AM at the church. Interment will be in Mount Peace Cemetery, Minersville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Shirley be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 W. Arch St., Pottsville, PA 17901. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
