Richard D. Kleckner
, 76 years of age, formerly of Quakertown, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, as a guest of Greenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Ctr. in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

Born Sunday, March 21, 1948 in York, Pennsylvania the son of the late Raymond L. "Brick" Kleckner, and Marie S. (Sendiak) Kleckner. Richard was also predeceased by; granddaughter, Amber Lynn Schwoyer.

Surviving are daughter, Jennifer Schwoyer and her husband, Daniel of Coaldale; sisters, Judy A. Hoppes of Tamaqua, Ann Marie Magazzu and her husband Andrew of New Jersey; grandson, David Schwoyer; great grandchild, Kinsley Lynn Knapp. Nieces and nephews also survive Richard.

A 1967 Tamaqua High School graduate, Richard inherited his work ethic from his father, starting at Leiby's Restaurant in South Tamaqua, and retiring from the dietary department of the St. Luke's Hospital system. Richard had also worked at Redner’s Grocery Store, Walmart, and Taco Bell. A talented cook, Richard took great pride in his flower garden.

John D. "Jack" Hummel, Sr.
, 81 of Pottsville, died Friday June 28th at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

He was born November 11, 1941, in Baltimore, MD a son of the late John W. and Margaret Krebs Hummel

He was a graduate of St. Clair High School and McCann School of Business.

Jack was a veteran of the Army.

Prior to retiring Jack of the office manager for the Schuylkill Municipal Authority.

He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, St. Clair, Schuylkill Scholar Athlete and former member of St. Clair Lions Club.

Surviving are his wife of 53 years Anne Marie Donnelly Hummel; a son, John D. Hummel, Jr., Salem, MA; a daughter, Kate Hummel, Pottsville; nieces and nephews.

Service of Remembrance will be announced at a later date. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Jack be made to Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.

Susan Marie Scholato
, 74, of Cape Canaveral, FL, passed on June 7, 2024 at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne, FL.

Born in Pottsville, PA on May 9, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Edward Paul & Ruth Elizabeth (Leonard) Scholato.

Susan was a 1968 graduate of Hazleton High School. She attended Penn State University and earned her Bachelor's Degree in education from Bloomsburg State College PA.

Susan retired from the Brevard County School District after over 30 years as an elementary school teacher.

The most important thing to Susan was her beloved family. She most enjoyed gathering with loved ones around her delicious homecooked meals. Susan took pride in honoring her family's traditions passed down over many years. It was her priority to keep their legacy alive and instill these values in her children to ensure that they would continue for generations to come. Her motto, "You waste not, you want not" was the guiding light in both her family life and teaching career.

She is survived by her daughter, Risa Scholato; granddaughter, June Elizabeth; sister, Jane Scholato; and nephews, Jared and Jordan Scholato of Cape Canaveral, FL.

A graveside service will be held at Cressona Cemetery, Cressona, PA on July 15th 2024 at 1 PM.
