Joseph Walukiewicz, 72, of Shenandoah, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, at his home.
Born in Shenandoah on December 6, 1951, he was the son of the late Ed and Margaret “Zimnitsky” Walukiewicz.
Joe was a 1970 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper / Shenandoah Valley High School. He worked for the railroad doing maintenance. Joe also liked to collect Lionel trains and had a green thumb for gardening.
The surviving family includes his brother, Edward Walukiewicz of Shenandoah, his sister, Roseann Kenney with her husband John of Pottsville, and his dear friend and neighbor, Debbie Abrachinsky.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 11 at 10:00am in the Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
The Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, Shenandoah are entrusted with the arrangements.

Baby Jax entered the Kingdom of Heaven 7/4/2024.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Kai Mannon, and Finnley Yurkonis. His grandparents Nicole and Robert Whitaker, Heather Mannon and Brian Mannon. His Great grandparents William Whitaker, Julia Whitaker, Kathleen Whitaker, Joseph Schwartz, James Carey, Dale Carey, Martina Roach, and Harold Roach.
Jax was of the Catholic Faith.
Jax will remain the brightest light in their lives as he lives now in their hearts. His smile was enough to light up a room. Baby Jax will be deeply missed.

"Born in the USA" on July 28, 1956, Bill Beatty was the son of the late Mary (Pohedra) and George "Shadow" Beatty of Minersville. Bill was a proud 1974 graduate of Minersville Area High School. He also graduated from McCann School of Business as a medical assistant. Working in sales and quality control, Bill was employed at Craftex Mills, B&K Installations, the Pottsville Republican, and R&R Auto Group. A music aficionado, Bill knew the most obscure details about musicians and their recordings, and especially enjoyed listening to Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, and the Rolling Stones. He was a performer at heart, one of the founding members of the group Sheriff Jones. His rendition of "Dead Dog Blues" was an oft-requested crowd-pleaser! As a member of the MAHS marching band, he liked to toss the bass drum mallet into the air during parades, much to the enjoyment of the crowd and the chagrin of his band director. Bill's sense of humor was renowned. He could always be counted on to tell a funny joke or story. His escapades were legendary!
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his dear friends Vinnie Kalochie, Alan Bobinas, Art Yannacone, Sam Leone, Clerv Artz, Sam Watts, and pets Cupcake and Misty.
He is survived by cousins Olwen Frantz, David Frantz, Donna Harris, Stacy Gober, his sister and caregiver Olwyn Beatty, and his furry friend Tootsie.
All are respectfully invited to attend a Visitation Saturday, July 13 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville. Inurnment Mount Peace Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, it was Bill's request that donations be made to either the Minersville Public Library, 220 S. Fourth Street, Minersville, PA 17954 or the Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, P.O. Box 332, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972. Donations will be accepted at the funeral home.

Prior to retiring, she was employed as a secretary for the Records Office at SCI Frackville and Mahanoy Department of Corrections.
Born in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of Gertrude Ann (Hack) Bichteman, of Pottsville, and the late Albert Bichteman. She was a member of Bible Tabernacle Church, Schuylkill Haven. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Randy.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are two sons, Timothy, of New Ringgold, and companion, Heather Schenkerberg, and Curtis, of Hellertown; daughter, Tracey Chickilly, of Tamaqua, and companion, Steven Troxell; brother, Cris, and wife, Bonnie, of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Velva “Rene” Bichteman, of Orwigsburg; six grandchildren, Hunter, Sadie, Jayce, Lucas, Wes and Wylie; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 6pm Saturday, July 20, at Bible Tabernacle Church, 314 S. Margaretta St, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972, with Rev. Douglas Schwenk officiating. Memorial visitation at the church 5-6pm Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to American Cancer Society, PO Box 1640, Hagerstown, MD 21741. Arrangements are being handled by the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold.

Sylvia K. Buehler, 100, of Pine Grove passed away peacefully on Sunday at Seton Manor Nursing Home.
Born on November 20, 1923, Sylvia was the daughter of the late Joseph R. Kremer and Marion Heebner Kremer.
Sylvia was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School. She then went on to take some college courses at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. Sylvia became a Lab Analyst and worked for the Dupont Chemical Company for many years.
She was a member of St. John’s Reformed Church in Friedensburg.
Sylvia was a quilter and avid reader. She loved to travel and had travelled extensively throughout the world.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, Oscar “Pete” Buehler who passed in 2006. She was also preceded in death by, two sisters, Jean Deibler and Peggy Ann Cresswell and her brother, Joseph Kremer.
Sylvia is survived by two sisters, Virginia Walker, Harrisburg, and Barbara Scott, Pottsville. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; Cynthia D’Alio, Barbara Moyer, Karen Pedriani, Jane Greene, Sandra Kawczynski, Jeffrey Cresswell, Jerald Cresswell, Christopher Scott, and Stephen Scott and 13 great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven. There is no public visitation prior to services. Interment will follow on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Sylvia’s memory to the St. John’s Reformed Church, 17 Chestnut Street, Friedensburg, PA 17933.
