Shenandoah Area Public Library Holds Summer Reading Program

The Shenandoah Area Free Public Library recently hosted a Summer Reading Program with the theme "Adventure Begins at the Library."

The program ran every Monday throughout July at the library on 19 West Washington Street.

The program was designed for children aged 4 to 12 and was led by Mary Matunis, a teacher at Marian Catholic High School. Matunis guided the kids through a series of fun crafts, games, and reading assignments.

In the photo, you can see some of the young participants proudly displaying the Olympic medals they created as part of the activities.

The children also enjoyed a special reading session with Jill Chowanes, a reading teacher at Shenandoah Valley Elementary. She shared one of her own books with the group, titled "A New Buddy for Monty," which is her latest release.

For those interested, Jill Chowanes's books are now available for purchase on Amazon.
