A Hazleton man has been charged for leading St. Clair Police in a pursuit back in April.
According to St. Clair Police, on April 23rd, 2024, Officers attempted to stop a black 4-door Acura Sedan that was clocked at 65 mph in a posted 45 mph zone in the area of Route 61 and Terry Rich Boulevard.
When the officer attempted to pull over the vehicle, the driver fled at a high rate of speed, swerving from lane to lane in excess of 100 mph.
The vehicle was located later, and the driver was identified as James Boyle, 36, of Hazleton.
On July 2nd, 2024, St. Clair Police Officer Shaun Wiest filed charges against Boyle that included fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, careless driving, and driving speeds in excess of 20 mph over the speed limit.
Boyle is scheduled to appear before Magisterial District Judge Plachko in Port Carbon on July 23rd, 2024 for a preliminary hearing.
