A crash has closed Route 309 between Hometown and Tamaqua late Thursday.
The crash occurred just after 11:30pm in the area of 52 Claremont Avenue in Rush Township. The dispatch came in for a crash with injuries that involved 6 vehicles. There were 2 injuries reported.
There was reported to be a very large debris field and fire police were requested to shut down Route 309. As of midnight, the roadway was closed in both directions.
State Police were on scene to investigate.
