On Tuesday, after Vice President Kamala Harris announced Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, Congressman Dan Meuser issued a statement.
Congressman Dan Meuser (PA09) issued the below statement following the announcement that Governor Tim Walz was selected as Vice-President Kamala Harris’ running mate.
Meuser said, “Kamala Harris choosing Tim Walz over Josh Shapiro proves that she is very comfortable with a Vice President whose ideology includes being a self-proclaimed socialist. They obviously passed on Shapiro for a number of reasons, but glaringly, he was passed on because of his strong support for Israel. Frankly, that’s disgraceful. Together, the Harris-Walz ticket will embody a radical San Francisco ideology and will be dangerously liberal. It will include all of the beliefs and positions voiced by Kamala Harris and Tim Walz over the years. These include open borders, decriminalizing illegal immigration, disbanding ICE, defunding the police, banning fracking, a DEI military, and a big-spending, big-government approach at the expense of the economy and working Americans. As a reminder, Kamala Harris not only encouraged rioters that burned and destroyed Minneapolis, she participated in a fund to bail them out, and it was Governor Walz who sat idly by as Minneapolis burned. He was even quoted as saying he was ‘proud’ of the rioters. And just last week, Tim Walz said ‘One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness.’ The differences could not be more stark. Trump-Vance are business-minded, commonsense conservatives who will strengthen America here at home and abroad. Harris, ranked the most radical leftist in the U.S. Senate, along with Tim Walz, will be a dangerously liberal combination focused on their extreme ideology and not at all on outcomes that strengthen our country or favor the American people.”
