A fire destroyed a home in Cass Township near Minersville midday Thursday.
Around 11:30am, Thursday, emergency personnel were called to 1222 Valley Road in Cass Township for a report of a structure fire.
Cass Township and Minersville units were on the call and when they arrived they reported the 1st and 2nd floors were on fire with a column of heavy smoke.
Firefighters battled the fire for almost an hour before bringing it under control around 12:30pm.
The home was completely destroyed by fire with only a shell left.
A state police fire marshal was requested to the scene.
As of 1:00pm, Valley Road remained closed and is expected it open around 2-3pm.
