Over $11,000 Raised for Gordon Veterans Memorial Park

A local business and community organizations have teamed up to make a big difference for veterans in Gordon.

Universal Forrest Products joined forces with the Gordon AMVETS Charitable Association to raise over $11,000.

The money will go towards building a veterans memorial park in the borough.

Marlin Markets and the Gordon Fire Company also pitched in to help with the fundraising efforts. Raffle prizes and community support helped boost the total.

Lew Kaufman, AMVETS post vice commander, says the generosity has been overwhelming. "Because of all the efforts from the UFP fundraiser, other local companies have been inspired to contribute to this project as well," Kaufman said.
