The Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven have released information on a fatal crash that occurred early Thursday in Pine Grove Township.
According to Troopers, the crash occurred just after 6:00am on Thursday, August 8th, 2024 on Bethel Road near the intersection with Stanhope Road.
Police say Bently Luckenbill, 22, of Pine Grove was driving southbound on Bethel Road in a Volkswagen Jetta when he left the west shoulder of the roadway and struck a tree.
Luckenbill was reported to not be wearing a seatbelt and died from his injuries at the scene. Luckenbill was pronounced at the scene by the Schuylkill County Deput Coroner Al Barnes.
Bethel Road was closed for approximately 2 1/2 hours after the crash while the scene was cleared and investigated.
Assisting State Police at the scene were the Pine Grove Fire Department, and the Pine Grove Community Ambulance
