Port Carbon Couple Charged and Jailed After Domestic Incident Involving Meth and Meat Grinder

A man and woman from Port Carbon are facing charges and are locked up in Schuylkill County Prison after a domestic incident.

According to court documents from Magisterial District Judge Dave Plachko's office, on Saturday, August 24th, 2024, around 1:00am, State Police from the Schuylkill Haven Barracks responded to the 100 Block of North Street in Port Carbon for a report of a domestic.

At the scene, Trooper Larry Reedy spoke with 61-year-old John Corcoron who said he and his wife were drinking and smoking methamphetamine and got into a verbal argument that turned physical.  John Corcoron stated during the altercation, 57-year-old Marcella Corcoron hit him in the back of the head with a meat grinder.  He then said he turned, grabbed her, and shoved her to the ground.  Marcella then began to bite him on the wrist and chest.

Marcella told police that John punched her twice first before she hit him with meat grinder.

Both were reported to have large lacerations injuries that were consistent with what they told police.

Both Marcella and John were taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment and arraigned before on-call Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli.

Judge Tarantelli set bail for Marcella at $15,000 straight cash and John at $15,000(10%).  Both were locked up and remain in Schuylkill County Prison.

Both are scheduled to appear before Judge Plachko on October 1st, 2024, for a preliminary hearing.
