Remnants of Hurricane Debby Could Dump 3 to 6 Inches of Rain on Eastern Pennsylvania

The National Weather Service has issued a weather update concerning Tropical Storm Debby as it moves over Pennsylvania.

The remnants of Debby are expected to move north along the eastern United States through Saturday. This system will bring substantial rainfall to Pennsylvania, with the heaviest downpours anticipated across the eastern two-thirds of the Commonwealth.

Residents are urged to plan accordingly, especially those living in flood-prone areas. The potential for flooding is high, and caution is advised.

Schuylkill County, in particular, is forecasted to receive up to 3 inches of rain by Saturday. This amount of rainfall could lead to localized flooding.

Municipalities have already issued alerts reminding residents to check to make sure their sump pumps are in working order.
