Richard A. Kunkel, 85, of Pottsville, PA, formerly of Kempton, PA, passed away peacefully at Providence Place in Pottsville on Monday evening, August 12, 2024. He was the husband of the late Mae A. (Schollenberger) Kunkel, who passed away in February 2023.

Born in Danielsville, PA, he was the son of the late William H. and Elva (Knepper) Kunkel. Richard was a Veteran, having served in the US Army from 1961-1963, and later served in the US Army Reserves during the Vietnam Conflict. He later worked for the Exide Corporation in Hamburg for 38 years. Richard was a member of Jacob’s Church in New Tripoli, PA.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his siblings Donald Kunkel, Marion Becker, and Betty Rump.

Richard’s funeral service will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 11 AM in the Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway New Tripoli, PA. The calling hour will begin at 10 AM. Interment immediately following the funeral in Jacob’s Union Cemetery. Rev. Scott L. Shay will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard’s name may be made to Jacob’s Church c/o funeral home address.

Robert J. Lindemuth, 74, of Ashland passed away Monday evening August 12, 2024, at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community.

Born in Shamokin on November 13, 1949 he was the son of the late Anna E. (Klinger) and Gerald M. Lindemuth.

Bob was of the Christian faith. He attended Ashland High School prior to enlisting in the Army.

He was last employed and retired from Schuylkill Products in Cressona after working there for many years.

Bob enjoyed playing the lottery and spending time with his family.

He is survived by; son Robert Jones Sr. (Janette), North Manheim Twp; sister Connie Wydra (William Sr.), Ashland; sister Donna Lindemuth, Ashland; grandson Robert Jones Jr.; niece Adrienne Wydra (Amy), Williamsport; nephew William Wydra Jr. (Angela), Linglestown; 5 great nieces & nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday August 19th at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 35 N 9th St, Ashland PA 17921. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 10-11:00 AM prior to services in the church. Burial will take place following services at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Trevorton.

Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home Inc, 901 Centre St, Ashland PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
