Robert R. Himmelberger
, 78, of Muir passed away suddenly, Monday afternoon, August 19, 2024 at his home.

Born in Berks County, August 27, 1945, a son of the late Ray and Anna Gehart Himmelberger.

Bob was a mechanic with Lebanon Seabord, retiring after 44 years.

He was a member of the Mt. Aetna Fire Company.

Bob could often be found sitting on his porch in Muir. He had a passion for classic cars and enjoyed entering his cars in shows. Prior to his health issues, he enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sandra Neyer Himmelberger; seven siblings, Lorraine Leitzel, Gloria Strunk, Kathy Bowman, Donald, Charles, Jim, and Ben Himmelberger.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 10-11 at the chapel. Bob will be laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery, Muir.

Clair P "Sip" Kehler
, age 76, of Mount Carmel, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born on Tuesday, April 6, 1948, in Hegins, a son of the late Francis L Kehler, Sr and the late Elsie (Carl) Kehler.

He attended Ashland Area High School.

Sip was a foreman for several area coal mines prior to his retirement.

He was of the Protestant Faith.

He was a member of the Good Fellowship Club of Ashland, the Ashland, Mount Carmel, and Hegins VFW's, and other social clubs in our area. Sip enjoyed fishing, listening to old time music, and loved animals..

He was preceded in death by his parents and by five sisters, Gloria Shoffler, Geraldine Leese, Rita Wright, Loraine Sliger, and Grace Sloan, and a brother, Francis L. "Butch" Kehler, Jr.

He is survived by two sons, Steven Kehler and his wife Tracy of Mount Carmel and Kevin Kehler of Locust Gap; a daughter, Kimberly Johnson of Mount Carmel; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; his companion, Alice L Reichert of Mount Carmel,; three sisters, Jeannette Metzinger of Bloomsburg, Jean Bower of Cleona, and Debbie Shoffler and her husband Terry of Gordon; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Inc, Valley View, on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 11:00 am, with Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Church of God Cemetery, Weishample.

John W Shade
, age 75, of Valley View, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024 at Penn State Milton S Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.

He was born on Tuesday, November 23, 1948, in Pottsville, a son of the late John A Shade and the late Tillie A (Klinger) Shade.

John was a 1967 graduate of Tri-Valley High School.

He retired from Reese's Peanut Butter, Hershey, after twenty-five years of employment.

John was an avid hunter, enjoyed going to camp, cooking, and most of all spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, LaRue A Welker.

He is survived by his wife Carol E (Strine) Shade, to whom he was married for 56 years.

He is also survived by two sons, Troy A Shade and Chrisopher L Shade of Valley View; a daughter, Sally M Sallada and her husband Rob of Valley View; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Sandra L Specht of Leck Kill; and several nieces and nephews; .

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Inc, Valley View.

A public celebration of life service will be scheduled at a later date.
