George H. Fry
, 76, of Orwigsburg, passed away Thursday, August 29th, at his residence.

George was born in Pottsville on December 10, 1947, a son of the late Erma (Smith) and LeRoy Fry.

He was the husband of Diane (Grube) Fry, they were married September 8, 1973.

He was a member of Zion's Red Church Orwigsburg, and attended Auburn High School.

He was an ABM machine operator at Glen-Gery George enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Phillies.

In addition to his wife Diane, George is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Fry and a son,Michael Fry, both of Orwigsburg as well as a grandson Evan Henry Fry; brothers Charles, William and Keith Fry. He is predeceased by a brother John Fry.

An evening visitation will be held Tuesday , September 3, from 6-8 PM at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home, Orwigsburg. A religious service will be held Wednesday September 4th at 11 AM with visitation from 9 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at Zion's Red Church Cemetery, Orwigsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion's Red Church 1287 Centre Turnpike Orwigsburg, PA 17961.

Megan Lynn Carl
, 39, of Williamstown, passed away suddenly, Friday morning, August 30, 2024, at her home following a lengthy battle with gastroparesis.

Megan was born Tuesday, June 25, 1985, a beloved daughter of Jody L. Reed Carl and the late Michael Carl.

She was a 2003 graduate of Williams Valley High School and a graduate of Penn State University where she received her Bachelor's degree in Humanities.

She was an avid Penn State fan and enjoyed everything Harry Potter. Megan kept in constant contact with her loved ones through social media. She would always let everyone know her latest life and health updates. She had a strong passion for animals and missed her beloved dog Nala very much. She leaves behind three four-legged family members whom she adored, Luckie, Lola, and Harry.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Albert Reed and William and Margaret Carl.

Surviving are her mother and best friend, Jody Reed Carl, with whom she had an inseparable bond with; her fiancee, Kevin S. Miller, to whom she was to be married to in two weeks on September 13th; her grandparents, Linda and Mark Challenger; a sister, Jessica Adams and her husband Sam; a nephew, Elliott Adams; many dear friends.

A Celebration of Megan's Life will be held Friday, September 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home with Pastor Amanda Bressler officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11. Megan will be laid to rest beside her dad, whom she dearly missed, in the Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown.

Ronald E. Weaver
, 61, of Pottsville, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at his home.

Ron was born in West Cheaster, July 3, 1963, a son of the late J. Richard (Dick) Weaver Sr. and the late Joan (Garrison) Weaver.

Ron was raised in Coatesville and graduated Coatesville Class of 1981. He attended the berkeley School of Music in Boston and graduated from Penn State with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He lived most of his adult life in Encinitas, California.

He owned and operated a "School of Rock" in California and finished his career at Mack Truck in Allentown.

Ron was an accomplished drummer and was in various bands over the years. He was also known for his "famous" chocolate chip cookies and his love for his cat, "TC".

Surviving are his brothers, J. Richard Weaver Jr., and his wife Eileen (Helm), of Coatesville, and Robert E. Weaver, and his wife Suzanne (Backstetter), of Pottsville; two nephews, Bobby & Jake.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 31st. at the Freedom in Christ Church, 1850 First Avenue in Pottsville with Pastor Jim Shields officiating. Visitation will start at 9:00 am and the service will commence at 11:00 am.

Donald J. Butler Funeral Home in Minersville is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Ron's memory be sent to "The Freedom in Christ Church of Schuylkill County", 1850 First Avenue in Pottsville, PA 17901.
