A Schuylkill County woman is facing charges after her three children test positive for drugs.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on June 22, 2024, around 10:00pm, emergency personnel were called to 1019 Walnut Street in Ashland for a report of a 3-year-ld struggling to breathe.
The child was in custody of his mother, Nikki Rehrig, 30, of Mahanoy City.
EMS arrived and began life saving measures, which required Narcan.
The child was rushed to the emergency room where a toxicology revealed that he tested positive fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Schuylkill County Children and Youth responded to the hospital and took emergency custody of the child and two other children, a 6 and 7-year-old, Rehrig was in custody of.
Toxicology of the other two children revealed they were both found with fentanyl in their systems.
As a result, on Wednesday, August 21st, 2024, Rehrig was charged with 3 counts of endangering the welfare of children.
Rehrig was arraigned Wednesday afternoon by Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli on the above charges and released on $50,000 unsecured bail.
