Severe Thunderstorm and Flood Watch Issued for Schuylkill County

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch and a Flood Watch for Schuylkill County for Wednesday.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued until 7:00pm for the following Pennsylvania Counties:

  • Forest
  • Franklin
  • Fulton
  • Greene
  • Huntingdon
  • Indiana
  • Jefferson
  • Juniata
  • Lancaster
  • Lawrence
  • Lebanon

A Flood Watch has been issued until late Wednesday night for the following counties in Pennsylvania:

  • Lancaster
  • Lebanon
  • Schuylkill
  • York
IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. 
 * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Slow moving heavy downpours will be capable of 1 to 2 inch per hour rainfall rates through late tonight. We expect local rainfall amounts to average between 1.5 and 2.5 inches with local amounts over 3 inches through late tonight.
