Three Transported to the Hospital After Ashland House Fire


Three people were injured in a house fire in Ashland last night.

Emergency crews responded to a call just after 8:15 p.m. at 939 Brock Street for reports of a fire with possible people trapped inside.

When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the home and a person hanging out of a second-story window. Firefighters were able to rescue that person.

The fire was contained to the kitchen, causing extensive damage.

A woman and two men were transported to the hospital with injuries. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

The Red Cross is assisting the five people who lived in the home.

Responding to the scene were firefighters from the Washington Fire Company and American Hose Company from Ashland, Rangers Hose Company from Girardville, and the Lavelle Fire Company.  Washington Ambulance assisted with transporting the victims.
