The incident occurred around 2:10pm, Tuesday, on Route 61 northbound just beyond the construction area.
During the incident, the trailer came loose and ruptured the gas tank on the truck spilling fuel on the roadway.
No injuries have been reported. Fire personnel are at the scene.
Traffic northbound is reported to be backlogged.
