WEATHER ALERT: Flood Watch Issued for Schuylkil County

       


The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Schuylkill County.
FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

* WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania, including the following
counties
  • Columbia
  • Dauphin
  • Montour
  • Northumberland
  • Schuylkill
  • Sullivan
  • Tioga.
* WHEN...Through Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more
heavy rain. 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Multiple rounds of slow-moving showers and thunderstorms will affect portions of central and eastern Pennsylvania tonight through Sunday evening. Locations in the Watch area were hit hardest by Tropical Cyclone Debby and are most vulnerable to flooding from additional rainfall. In some locations, only an
inch of rain could cause flash flooding.
