Woman Transported to the Hospital After Crash in Pottsville


One person was transported to the hospital after a crash in Pottsville last week.

According to Pottsville Police, on Thursday, August 15th, 2024, around 11:50am, police units were dispatched to the area of South Centre Street and Howard Avenue for a report of a motor vehicle accident. 

Officers arrived on scene and found two vehicles still in the roadway with severe damage. 

After the course of an investigation, it was determined that a 56-year-old male from Frackville was driving his 2005 Dodge Ram North in the 200 block of South Centre Street and tried to make a left turn to head West on Howard Avenue. 

As he was making the left turn, he collided with a 2012 Subaru Impreza that was being driven South in the area of South Centre/Howard Avenue by a 24-year-old from Pottsville.

Both vehicles were towed from the roadway by Womer’s Garage due to the severity of the damages.

Schuylkill EMS arrived on scene and assessed the female for a possible head injury. She was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. 

Pottsville Fire Department also assisted at the scene. A traffic citation was filed on the Frackville man for Vehicle Turning Left.
