BOYS SOCCER: Minersville Area Falls to North Schuylkill



On Saturday, the Minersville Area Boys Soccer team faced off against North Schuylkill in a match on the Spartans' home turf. 

Both teams brought energy and intensity, but it was North Schuylkill who came out on top, securing a 3-1 victory.

The game kicked off with North Schuylkill striking first. Max Helwig found the back of the net with 18:21 left in the first half, giving the Spartans an early lead. Minersville responded with a goal from Jordan Bowers at the 11:48 mark, tying the game 1-1. However, North Schuylkill quickly regained the lead just 20 seconds later when Zack Marcinowski scored, pushing the Spartans ahead 2-1 before halftime.

In the second half, North Schuylkill continued to apply pressure. Wyatt Zendrosky added an insurance goal, securing the Spartans' lead at 3-1. Despite their efforts, Minersville was unable to close the gap.

The victory improves North Schuylkill’s season record to 8-5 overall and 7-3 in the Schuylkill League Division 1, where they remain in third place.

Despite the loss, Minersville remains in good standing with a 9-6 record and has already clinched a spot in the District XI playoffs. They hold second place in Schuylkill League Division 2, trailing behind Shenandoah Valley.
