Drivers should expect delays traveling Route 61/The Grade this weekend.
From Friday, September 20, 2024, to Sunday, September 22, 2024, drivers traveling on Route 61/The Grade near Darkwater Road, between St. Clair and Frackville, should prepare for potential delays as construction crews begin a major rock removal project on the roadway.
Starting Friday morning, the work will be carried out continuously, both day and night, over the entire weekend.
As part of the project, traffic stoppages of up to 15 minutes will occur intermittently. These delays are expected to happen throughout the weekend as needed.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead by either allowing extra time for travel or using alternate routes to avoid the work zone. Patience and caution are advised for anyone traveling through the area.
