A Hegins woman is facing charges for sexually assaulting a teenager in Ashland.
According to court papers, Kristen Golden, 21, of Hegins, has been charged by Ashland Police with statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors, and indecent assault for an incident that occurred at a home on Brock Street in Ashland.
According to an affidavit prepared by Police Officer Daniel Weikel, he received a call on July 1st, 2024 from the Pennsylvania State Police.
An investigation by Officer Weikel led him to a home on Brock Street where he spoke with the father of the victim, who said he had thrown Golden out of his home after learning she had sex with his son sometime last year. Golden had reportedly admitted to the father via a text message. In the text, Golden admitted that she was drunk and high at the time of the incident. Golden was 20 and the victim was 15 at the time of the incident.
The teen was able to provide an account to police how the incident occurred.
As a result, Officer Weikel filed the above charges against Golden on Thursday, September 26th, 2024 through Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli's office.
Golden was taken into custody Friday morning and arraigned before Judge Tarantelli and released on $50,000 unsecured bail.
She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on October 23rd, 2024.
