Man Wanted in Connection with Minersville Robbery



Minersville Police are actively searching for 22-year-old Shynir Jeffcoat in connection with the armed robbery of the Minersville General Store that occurred on August 13, 2024. 

Jeffcoat, a Black male, is known to frequent the Port Carbon area. Authorities are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact Minersville Police at 570-544-6212. All information will remain confidential.

The incident involved four suspects, with three of them already apprehended within 48 hours of the robbery. Adan Twigg, 20, Edward Martinez, 18, and Za'ir Alvarez, 17, all from Pottsville, were taken into custody and are facing charges for their involvement in the crime.

Police allege that Jeffcoat, along with Twigg, Martinez, and Alvarez, stormed the Minersville General Store on August 12, 2024, and made off with approximately $9,000 in cash.

Preliminary hearings for Twigg, Martinez, and Alvarez were held earlier today, September 24th, 2024 at Magisterial District Judge Dave Plachko's office. After the hearings, Judge Plachko determined there was sufficient evidence to send all charges to county court. The three suspects were returned to prison to await further legal proceedings.
