MEET THE SCHUYLKILL COUNTY MARCHING BANDS is back, highlighting the Marching Bands from our Schuylkill County School Districts.  To kick off the 2024 season we feature the marching band from Tamaqua Area, directed by Mark Beltz.

Number of Musicians: 125

Number of Band Front/Color Guard: 35

Makeup of Band: 7th Grade through 12th Grade

Band Staff:

Director Beltz has been teaching for 26 years and has been at the high school for 13 years.

The Marching Band's show for 2024 include music from:


Our field show opens with a blast from the past with Kool and the Gang’s “Celebration,” arranged by Ralph Ford.

We follow that with Fitz and the Tantrums’ infectious “HandClap,” arranged by Paul Murtha.

Next, we will get you out of your seat with Miley Cyrus’s megahit “Party in the USA.”

The band closes its performance with Bon Jovi’s rocking breakup anthem “You Give Love a Bad Name,” arranged by Paul Murtha.

Goals for 2023:

Make our field show stronger each week that we perform.

Major Events Schedule for 2024:

The Tamaqua Raider Marching Band will be performing at the Tamaqua High School Football games, The Owen J. Roberts Band Adjudication, and The North Schuylkill TOB Competition.
