MEET THE SCHUYLKILL COUNTY MARCHING BANDS is back, highlighting the Marching Bands from our Schuylkill County School Districts.  Next to be featured for the 2024 season is the marching band from North Schuylkill, directed by Jacob M. Shoener.

Director John P. Shoener has been a music teacher at North Schuylkill for 5 years, and Director of Bands for 4 years.

This year’s program, LITTLE MONSTERS, features the music of Lady Gaga. The band opens with a captivating arrangement of “Bloody Mary”, followed by a stunning arrangement of “Shallow” We continue with a rocking arrangement of “Bad Romance”, before closing with an epic arrangement of “The Edge of Glory.”

Goals for 2024:

Goals and objectives for the band this season are to continue to show growth and improvement with each performance throughout the season. And to put on a well-executed, entertaining show every single time!

Major Events Schedule for 2024:

• North Schuylkill High School Tournament of Bands Show — Saturday, Oct. 12, at 3:30 p.m. (gates open at 3:30 p.m.; event begins at 4:30 p.m.). Tickets are $10 for adult admission and $5 for students/senior citizens. Seventeen different performing bands are scheduled to participate.
• North Schuylkill Hosts Tournament of Bands Chapter 02 Championships — Saturday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m. (gates open at 5 p.m.; event begins at 6 p.m.). Tickets are $10. Eleven different performing bands are scheduled to compete.
• North Schuylkill High School “Band-O-Rama” Fall Concert — Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. at North Schuylkill High School’s Hope-Cesari Gymnasium.
