The Marching Band's theme for 2024 is Viva Las Vegas featuring Music of Bands and Artists that have performed in Las Vegas.
The show will start off with the driving sounds of Elvis Presley, and his namesake hit, VIVA LAS VEGAS- arranged by Ralph Ford. Elvis had a 7-year residency in Las Vegas from 1969-1976 at the International Hotel.
The second song features the music of music of Frank Sinatra, who is also long associated with Las Vegas for 43 years' worth of performances. His hit tune COME FLY WITH ME- arranged by Paul Murtha, was recorded live at the now closed Sands Casino.
The third tune features the music of Guns N Roses, who had a 42-concert residency in Las Vegas from October 2012-June 2014. Their big hit WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE became a big hit for them in 1987.
The closer features the music of Aerosmith, who had a residency in Las Vegas from 2019-2022, including 67 performances. Their song DREAM ON was their big hit from 1973, was arranged by Jay Bocook
Goals for 2024:
Continued musical growth and retention. Making the band a fun experience for all involved.
