Nearly Two Dozen Displaced After Overnight Fire in Tremont

Nearly two dozen people are displaced after an overnight fire in Tremont.

The fire came in at 11:08pm, Sunday, with emergency personnel being dispatched to the rear of Dee's Flowers at 22 East Main Street for a working building fire.

Firefighters arrived to find flames in the rear of the 3-story building with the structure filling with smoke.

All occupants had escaped uninjured.

The fire would strike 3-alarms calling in units from all over Schuylkill County along with Dauphin County.

Firefighters were on scene into the daylight hours putting out hot spots.

The fire damaged at least 5 properties, including 2 businesses, and displacing 8 families.  The American Red Cross is assisting the families.

As of 6:00am, a Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal was on scene investigating.

The Pine Grove Area School District is on a 2-Hour Delay Monday due to the street closures.
