A pedestrian was struck and killed in Tamaqua on Monday morning.
The incident occurred just before 4:30am near 1299 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, St. Lukes Wound Care Management Center and involved a male that was struck by a pickup truck.
The roadway was shut down just after 4:30am.
The Schuylkill County Coroner's Office was on scene and pronounced the victim at 6:08am.
The Tamaqua Police Department along with the Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the incident.
UPDATE: The roadway reopened around 7:00am
