A Pine Grove man is facing charges after an alleged domestic assault that occurred in Pottsville on Sunday.
Upon arrival, Officers made contact with a male who was identified as, Kyle Crain, age 20, of Pine Grove.
Crain told police that he was playing pool with his girlfriend, age 19, at the Pottsville Zone and that they got into verbal argument, while they were driving home together. Crain said during the verbal argument that the female victim pulled over and exited to the vehicle. Crain said he doesn't know where she had gone, but said she left her vehicle, and took her car keys with her. Officers made contact with the victim in the 300 Block of Peacock Street who had visible injuries that she reported Crain had caused to her.
Crain was taken into police custody and the victim provided additional information. She said she was driving home from playing pool with her boyfriend, Kyle Crain, at the Pottsville Zone, and that he got upset with how she was driving her vehicle. She said during the argument that Crain punched her in the chest and arms while she was driving. The victim said at one point that Crain choked her with his hands causing her breathing to be impeded. The female victim said she pulled over because she needed to get away from Crain and fled on Peacock Street.
Officers observed visible redness and bruising to the victim’s neck, chest, arm, and back.
Due to the above investigation, Ptlm. Fanelli requested a warrant of arrest charging Kyle Crain with 1 count of Strangulation (F1), simple assault (M2), and Harassment (S).
Crain was arraigned before on call Magisterial District Judge James Riley who set bail at $20,000 straight cash. Crain was unable to post bail and was transported to Schuylkill County Prison. Crain was released Monday after posting bail through a professional bondsman on Monday.
