Janet C. (Coyle) McDonald, 79 of Girardville passed away on Saturday at her home with her family by her side.

Born in Lost Creek on October 13, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Eleanor (Shearn) Coyle.

She graduated from the former Immaculate Heart Academy, Fountain Springs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William F. McDonald Sr. in 2005; two sisters: Virginia “Virge” Wood and Barbara “Bobbie” Dooling; a brother, Francis “Frankie” Coyle.

Janet is survived by her son William F. McDonald Jr., Girardville; two daughters: Sherri McDonald, Bethlehem and Janelle McDonald, Girardville; one grandson who she adored, Ryan M. McDonald, Schuylkill Haven; two great-grandchildren: Isabelle and Rowan McDonald; three sisters: Ele McGarvey, Jackie Isherwood and Kiki Goodman; one brother, Patrick Coyle; two sisters-in-law: Patricia “Patsy” Coyle and Andrea Coyle; many nieces, nephews and cousins that she thought the world of.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 6th at 11 a.m. from St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Girardville with her “favorite” cousin Msgr. Edward Coyle as the celebrant and Fr. Giuseppe Esposito as the con-celebrant. Friends are invited to her visitation at the church on Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Fountain Springs.

Dolores Ann Bonenberger, 86 of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania died on Friday August 30, 2024, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale, Pennsylvania.

Born Monday, January 24, 1938 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Harowitz) Davidyock. Dolores was also predeceased by her husband William James Bonenberger on November 19, 2021 and her brother Richard Davidyock.

Surviving are daughters, Janet Turner and her husband, Darrell of Barnesville, PA, Deeann Krapf and her husband Lenny and Stacey Leid and her husband Jeff; 6 grand children; 6 great grand children; step sons William J. Bonenberger and his wife Janet; David J. Bonenberger and his wife Francine.

A member of St. John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, Dolores was a 1955 graduate of Summit Hill High School. She worked in the textile industry and in the maintenance department of the Tamaqua School District. Dolores was an animal lover.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family and her care has been entrusted to E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 655 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, PA 18252. 570-668-2550.

Interment will be in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.

Gary L. Lebo
, 90, of Muir, passed away Saturday, morning, August 31, 2024, at the Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Muir, April 29, 1934, a son of the late Irvin and Ruth Carl Lebo.

He was a 1952 graduate of Porter Township High School and was very active with the Porter Tower Reunion Committee.

Gary was employed by local union 542 as a heavy equipment operator.

He was a very active member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Muir, a member of the Swatara Lodge 267 F&AM and a member of the Muir and Orwin Fire Companies.

Gary was an talented woodworker and took great pride in the appearance of his home.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Elva Wirt Lebo, 2022; a sister, Joann Schwalm; a half-brother, Ken Lebo.

Surviving are three daughters, Cynthia Shutt, Linda Snyder and her husband David, and Lori Scheetz and her husband Edward; grandchildren, Kristopher Stamm, Kyla Snyder, Keli Love, and Kyle Scheetz; two great grandchildren, Bryce Love and Maddox Stamm.

Gary will be laid to rest privately in the Fairview Cemetery, Muir, with his pastor, Amanda Bressler officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 101 E Wiconisco Street, Muir, PA 17957.

Patricia Ann Shantz (Nee Irey)
, 89, born November, 6th 1934 in East Vincent Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus, August 30th, 2024, at her home in Zion Grove, where she had lived since 2001.

She was the daughter of the late Adolph V. Murray Irey and Bertha Elizabeth Irey (nee Sims).

Patricia (Paddy) was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Shantz, son Dennis A. Mertz, siblings Oliver Sims (Grace) of Phoenixville, Clara Kelley (Noah) of Spring City, Betty Shantz (Henry) of Phoenixville, Donald W. Irey (Joan) of Spring City.

Patricia was raised on a farm in Chester County where she grew to love the country way of life, including raising farm animals well into her fifties. She had a talent for singing and her beautiful voice could be heard and enjoyed in church on Sundays. She raised her family in the Christian faith and was always active with her church community.

She was a voracious reader and a great supporter of her local libraries wherever she lived.
She and her military husband traveled through out the United States and overseas raising their family along the way. They settled in Morgantown, Pa where she was a homemaker and worked for Pennhurst State Hospital in Spring City. She ended her working life at Shady Maple Farm Market, retiring after 20 years of service.

Relocating after her husband's passing, Pat, moved to Zion Grove where she made great friends as a member of the Onieda Sheppton Seniors and Ringtown Valley Seniors organizations.

She is survived by daughters Diane Shantz Mosteller- Matthes New Ringgold, Denise Shantz Zaremba, wife of Christopher, Ringtown and son Douglas A. Shantz, Ringtown and previous son-in-law, Daniel Mosteller, Cressona.

She leaves behind eight grandchildren, Drew, wife to Jesse Aungst, Danae, Derek and Dillan Mosteller, Nathaniel Shantz, Emily, and Allison Zaremba, and Samantha Zaremba, wife of Mitchell Young. One great granddaughter Evelyn, along with several neices and nephews.

Patricia rests in peace and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and her best cat buddy, Draco.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown on Friday evening, September 6th, 20 2024, from 6-8 PM.

Patricia will be laid to rest at 10 AM on Saturday, September 7th at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Parkerford, PA.
