Andrew Gera
, 77, of Frackville, PA, passed away Wednesday, September 4th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Bethlehem.

Andrew was born in Lintz, Austria on July 15, 1947, a son of the late Lucy (Konstantinowa) and Andrew Gera.

He graduated from Frackville Area High School class of 1965.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt during his two tours in Vietnam.

After his service in the Army, he was a tool and die machinist, but his true talent was being an artist. He created countless airbrush murals on cars, motorcycles and almost anything else you can think of.

He enjoyed photography, especially hiking in the woods to take fall foliage and nature pictures.

He was also an avid pool shooter, shooting on many local leagues throughout his lifetime.

He was husband of the late Sandra (Bennett).

Andrew is survived by sons, Andrew III of Texas and Rick, husband of Kim Bennett of Shenandoah, daughters, Lucinda Gera of Georgia and Jennifer Gera of Texas, also survived by a sister, Mary Raibeck a brother, David, husband of Donna Gera, of Frackville. A granddaughter, Haily Bennett and nieces and nephews, Nick Gera, Andrew Raibeck, Will Raibeck, David Raibeck and Cindy Raibeck.

He is preceded in death by a brother Walter and daughter Margie.

Friends and family may call Thursday Sept 12, 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the Louis D. Truskowsky Funeral Home & Crematory Inc.

Interment for Andrew and his wife Sandra will follow at the National Cemetery Fort Indiantown Gap Annville, PA.

Dolores Yvonne (Pepper) Hoffman, 90, of Pottsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7th, in her residence with her family by her side.

Born in Pottsville on October 14, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Frances and Thelma C. (Thomas) Pepper, Sr. She grew up in in the Jalapa section of Pottsville.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville.

She loved meeting people, enjoyed doing needlework and reading, especially Romance, Mystery, and Detective novels; watching murder mysteries on TV and listening to music by the Crooners (Johnny Mathis, Nat King Cole, and Tony Bennet) of the 1950's and 60's.

Dolores was member of the Wynonah Red Hatters Club, Schuylkill County Flower Club, and regularly attended the Pottsville Christian Women's Club luncheons, and also, traveled with the "Young At Heart" group from the Free Church, Cressona.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar W. Hoffman, in August 1991; son, William Lamar; brother, Joseph Pepper, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Barbara.

Dolores is survived by daughters: Christine Louise Hoffman, of Pottsville; Kerry Lee Martin, wife of John, of Pottsville ; four grandchildren: Louise (Dalvet) Abernathy, wife of Emmett, of Virginia; William Martin, of Minersville; Nicole (Martin) Sinton, of Port Clinton; and Brooke Martin, of Pottsville; three great grandchildren: James T. and Jacob R. Villella, of Port Clinton; and Benjamin Martin, of Pottsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 13th, at 11:00 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville with Pastor Mark Brooks officiating.

A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, September 12th, from 6-8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Charles Baber Cemetery, Pottsville.

Thomas O. McHugh, Jr.
, 75, a resident of the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away Sunday evening, September 8, 2024.

Born in Pittsburgh, October 29, 1948, a son of the late Thomas Sr. and Norma Jean Nagel McHugh.

Tom was a United States Marine Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.

He was a retired letter carrier with the United States Postal Service.

Tom was of the Catholic Faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Colin D. McHugh, March 6, 2023.

Surviving are three daughters, Jenna Morrone (Cris), Erin Driscoll (Francis), and Marla Jean McHugh; brother, David McHugh (Darlene); grandchildren Angelina and Roman Morrone, and Hannah and Lilly Driscoll; a sister Norma Jean Persurich; a nephew Tim (Christy).

Tom will be laid to rest privately in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors.

Catherine L. Budnick, 104, of Minersville, passed away September 1, 2020.

Born in Buck Run, June 25, 1920, she was a the fifth of seven children of the late Daniel and Anna (Mitchell) Budnick.

Following her graduation from Minersville High School, she attended St. Agnes School of Nursing in Philadelphia. Catherine then went on to serve as a Nurse in the US Army in WWII. She then continued her career as a registered nurse at Ketttering Hospital, NYC.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Minersville and a member of Teacher’s College.

The last member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters Anna Trenosky, Eve Sykes, Mary Budnick; 2 Brothers Michael Budnick and John Paul Budnick.

She is survived by Nieces and Nephews including Rose Ann Roscoe of Minersville and Frank Roscoe of Texas.

Devine Liturgy will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday September 11, 2024 at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church 415 N. Front St. Minersville, PA 17954. Friends may call from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church. Burial with military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
