Lisa Marie DiMitri, 37, a resident of Pottsville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 9, 2024 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Lisa was born in Pottsville on October 16, 1986, a daughter of Antonio DiMitri of Carlisle and Debra (Johnston) DiMitri of Pottsville. She was a 2004 graduate of the Pottsville High School, and was currently employed as a home health aide for Comfort Keepers. She was loved and will be missed by everyone.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by loving four children, Nathan Reed, Coleby DiMitri, Kayliaunna Wertz and Bryndalynn Wertz, all of Pottsville.

Two sisters, Jennifer Reed and Samantha Boyer, both of Port Carbon, also survive, along with her extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 18th, 2024 at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 West Market Street, Pottsville. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing from 9-11 AM prior to the service. Interment will be in the Queen of the Universe Cemetery, immediately following the service.

Herman Edward Morgan, Jr.
, 74, of Auburn, passed away Thursday, September 12th, at home surrounded by family.

Born in Coaldale on December 3rd, 1949, he was the son of the late Herman E. Morgan, Sr. & Elaine M. (Shifferstine) Morgan.

Herm was the husband of Nadine B. (Schaffer) Morgan, to whom he was married for 37 years.

He graduated from Blue Mountain High School, Class of 1967. Following graduation Herm entered the U.S. Navy in 1968 and was honorably discharged as an AT Third Class Petty Officer in 1972.

He was employed as a machine operator at Omnova, Auburn for 33 years.

Herm was a member of First United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven.

He loved hunting, golfing, softball, and his favorite teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. But above all else, Herm was a devoted family man, affectionately known by his grandchildren as Pop Pop.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Christopher Morgan, husband of Leslie, of Sinking Spring, daughters: Melissa, wife of Ryan Negri, of Wyomissing; & Cheryl, wife of Nick Stripe, of Hamburg. Herm is also survived by grandchildren: Taylor, Paityn, & Brody Morgan, and Landon & Theo Stripe; and a great granddaughter, Harper Piano. He is also survived by two brothers: James Morgan, husband of Celia of Rockport, TX and Lawrence Morgan, husband of Lynn of Cressona; a sister, Janet Maurer, wife of Tom, of Cressona; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, September 19th at First United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven with Rev. Ms. Shawn VanDyke officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Interment with military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Clara Koch
, 72, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, was called to her eternal resting place on September 13, 2024. She entered this world on April 8, 1952, in Pottsville, PA, born to her father, Al Hummel, and mother, Betty Hummel.

Clara is survived by her spouse, Donald Koch, Sr.; daughter, Jen Koch; sons, Ray Hoppes, Scott Hoppes, and DJ Koch; grandchildren, Amber Hoppes, Heather Hoppes, Courtney Strause, Raymond Hoppes, III, and Zachary Roberts; great-grandchildren, Noah Hoppes, Evelyn Roberts, Alyson Strause and Jackson & Zachary; sister, Barbara Hummel; and brother, Sam Hummel and Charles Hummel.

She will be dearly missed by all, and may she rest ever so peacefully as she watches over her loved ones.

Private cremation services will be entrusted to Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Pottsville.

Anne P. Jacavage
, 92, Girardville passed away peacefully at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville on Thursday, September 12th surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Girardville, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Anna (Flynn) McLaughlin.

Anne graduated from the former St. Joseph's Catholic High School, Girardville and McCann's School of Business, Mahanoy City.

Anne was a member of the former St. Joseph’s Church, Girardville now St. Charles Borromeo Parish. She was a pivotal member in helping with the construction of the St. Joseph’s Church Chapel. She was a devout catholic who served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister.

She was a member of the Girardville Senior Citizens, Red Hat Society, Ladies AOH, Daughters of Erin Division #18 and also volunteered her time at Birthright and the Food Bank.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph L. Jacavage and her daughter Marianne Jacavage.

Anne is survived by her son, Ralph Jacavage, Girardville; her daughter, Patricia Sincavage and her husband James, of Lititz; her grandchildren: Jeffrey Sincavage, Patrick Sincavage, Kathryn Zimmerman, Victoria Sincavage, Ralph Jacavage and their families.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 16th from St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Girardville with Fr. Guiseppe Esposito, pastor, as the celebrant. Friends are invited to her visitation at the church on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of mass. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Charles Schimpf, 80, of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 12, 2024, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Jacqueline (Little) Schimpf with whom he had celebrated thirty years of marriage at the time of her death in 2015. 

Born in Coaldale, Charles was the son of the late Walter Schimpf, Sr. and Kathryn (Robertshaw) Schimpf. A 1961 graduate of Tamaqua High School, he attended The Pierce School of Business in Philadelphia and became a supervisor of the data processing components of Mack Trucks in Allentown. He was a long-standing member of the New England Fire Company and attended St. John United Church of Christ in Tamaqua. 

Charles is survived by a twin brother, Walter Schimpf, Jr. and his wife Helen of Orwigsburg; a niece and god-daughter, Megan Schimpf-Peterson; and a nephew, Jonathan Schimpf. 

Charles was predeceased by his daughter, Bonnie Migilosi. Services pending at the convenience of the family. Online condolences may be made at www.zgfuneralhome.com.

Mary Lois Zambiasi
, 84, of Minersville , passed away Wednesday, September 11th, at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. 

Lois was born in Bainbridge, Georgia on May 13, 1940, a daughter of the late Dollie Mae (White) and Walter Dewey Ammons. She was the widow of Charles Robert Zambiasi Jr.. She was a member of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and of the Holy Family Parish, Minersville. She was a former Seamstress in the local garment industry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers. Gene and James Ammons, as well as her sisters. Joyce Scarzella, Betty Burcraff, Lavern Richards, and Inez Milam. 

Lois is survived by her son, Phillip D. husband of Karen Zambiasi, a daughter, Dione “Dee Dee” Zambiasi, and her companion Neil Schenck. A brother, Wayne, husband of Debbie Ammons and a sister, Marguerite, wife of Jack Williams. She is also survived by Granddaughters; Kayla O'Donnell, Kristen, wife of Derek Hoke, Elissa Zambiasi, Great Grandchildren; Arabella & Asher O'Donnell, 

All are respectfully invited to attend a Visitation 9:00 to 10:30 AM on Tuesday, September 17th at Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc. in Minersville. A Religious Funeral Service will follow at 10:30 am with Reverend Jason F. Stokes officiating. The family would like to thank the staff of the Schuylkill Center for their friendship to and kind and compassionate care of Lois. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillside Society 51 S.P.C.A Rd, Pottsville, PA 17901. Private Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Meda H. Wisler, age 76 of Barnesville, PA passed peacefully at the Greenwood Nursing Home on Thursday 12 Sept 2024. Born in Taunton MA 16 March 1948 she was the daughter of late Joseph and Frances Seaver (Monahan). Her father passed away during her early childhood and her family then moved to Tamaqua where they had relatives. Meda attended local Tamaqua schools and was a graduate of Marion Catholic High School class of 1965. After high school she attended General Hospital of Monroe County School of Medical Technology to seek a career as a Med Tech and after graduation worked at the Pocono Hospital (now LVHN). She worked in the Chemistry and Micro-Biology department for 40+ years before retiring. She later married William (Biliie) Wister who passed away in 2004. In 2021 she married her husband Richard Mikulski of Barnesville, PA.

She leaves behind her husband Richard Mikulski of Barnesville, a brother James and wife Jean Seaver of Keene, NH, a brother Joseph and wife Susan Seaver of Lansford, PA, a niece Karen Seaver and husband James Kraly and children Penny and Teddy of Alstead, NH, a niece Maureen and husband Tom Osinchak of Nesquehoning,. PA and her cat Miss Kitty.

Services will by private at the convenience of the family. If you wish, you can make a donation to your favorite charity in Medas honor.
