Pottsville Woman Faces Assault Charge After Domestic Incident

According to Pottsville Police, on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024, around 4:45am, police were dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of North 2nd Street, for the report of a domestic dispute. 
During the course of the investigation, officers spoke with the male victim who reported that his wife, Kaitlyn Holmes, age 24, did not want him at the residence. 

The victim further reported that as he was leaving, an altercation ensued, which lead to him being bit on the left bicep. Corporal Hamilton was able to view an abrasion on the arm of the victim, consistent with a bite mark. 

Officers were able to locate Holmes inside another residence on North 2nd Street and officers were able to speak with her. Holmes provided a similar account of the incident and admitted to biting the male victim. 

Holmes was taken into custody on a misdemeanor charge of simple assault and arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker, Shenandoah. Bail was set at $10,000, unsecured and she was released from police custody.

Man To Be Charged for Making False Report to St. Clair Police

According to the St. Clair Police Department, on Saturday, September 21st, 2024, officers responded to the 200 Block of South Morris Street in the borough.  Dominic Varvel, of Richland, PA reported to police that he was using his aunt's Toyota Prius when it was damaged while parked in the borough.

Police investigated and found that Varvel made a false report and that he had actually backed into a trailer in Lebanon, PA causing the damage.

Varvel admitted to making the false report and police will be charging him.
