The Schuylkill County Historical Society is set to host a series of events highlighting the region's rich history, local authors, and paranormal research over the coming weeks.

Robert McCormick's Anthracite Heritage Celebration
Local artist Robert McCormick will share stories and photographs from his new book, Reclamation: From Coal Dust to Hope, on Wednesday, September 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the Schuylkill County Historical Society, 305 N. Centre St., Pottsville. The event celebrates the region’s anthracite coal heritage. Admission is free for Society members and $5 for the general public. The Pottsville Maroons and Their Controversial NFL Championship
Schuylkill County Historical Society Executive Director Diana Prosymchak will present “The Pottsville Maroons: The Case of the Stolen 1925 NFL Championship” on Saturday, September 21, at 1:30 p.m. The talk will take place at the historic Stanhope School, 122 Camp Road, Pine Grove. Note that the school building is not handicapped-accessible and does not have restrooms. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Local Reads Book Club Discusses The Last Farm
On Wednesday, September 25, at 6:30 p.m., the Local Reads Book Club will meet to discuss The Last Farm, a novel by Orwigsburg author J.A. Stein, at the Schuylkill County Historical Society. Pottsville Maroons Trivia Night
Test your knowledge of Schuylkill County’s 1920s NFL team during a special trivia night on Thursday, October 3, at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held at The Chopping Block, 370 S. Paranormal Researcher Jeff Dengler Returns

Historical Society Gettysburg Bus Trip
The Schuylkill County Historical Society is organizing an all-day bus trip to Gettysburg National Military Park on Saturday, October 19.
