Through a partnership with Beltone, the Lions Club has been able to offer recycled hearing aids that have been tested, refurbished, and fitted for individuals who meet the financial criteria of the program.
The process begins with a hearing evaluation conducted by Beltone. After the evaluation, a fitting for the recycled hearing aids is scheduled, followed by a third appointment to ensure the hearing aids are functioning correctly—all at no cost to the recipient.
The Lions Club oversees the qualification of recipients, while Beltone refurbishes the hearing aids and provides any necessary new accessories. This initiative aims to help individuals with hearing impairments who may not have the financial resources to afford new hearing aids.
Sarah Lucht-Bennett, a third-generation owner and Hearing Care Practitioner at Beltone with 27 years of experience, works alongside her siblings Jesse and Daniel Lucht, and their parents Ralph and Sandra Lucht. Beltone currently operates nine locations across Northeastern Pennsylvania.
