The victim of a fatal crash in Girardville on Saturday has been identified.
The crash occurred around 1:45pm, near the intersection of West Main Street and Silver Street.
Witnesses to the crash reported the driver of the pickup truck was travelling east on Main Street and veered across the incoming lane and struck 2 parked vehicles in the 300 Block of West Main.
Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner Andrew Szczyglak was called to the scene and pronounced the driver, Stephen Koval, 72, of Mahanoy City, at the scene at 2:49pm. Early indications were Koval suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash.
The Pennsylvania State Police from Frackville are investigating.
Responding to the scene were the Rangers Hose Company, Girard Hose Company, along with EMS from the Washington Ambulance and Area Services.
