Girardville Man Faces Charges Following Incident at School Bus Stop

A Girardville man is facing charges after an incident at a school bus stop earlier this month.

According to court papers filed through Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli's office, Dequanta Adams, 28, of Girardville has been charged by Butler Township Police Officer John Minalda with making terroristic threats, unauthorized school bus entry, and disorderly conduct following an incident on October 4th, 2024.

According to the affidavit filed by Officer Minalda, the incident occurred just before 3:00pm on this date at the bus stop at John and Main Streets in Girardville.

The incident began as students were unloading from the bus, and as the final student exited, Adams, began to yell at the bus driver.  While yelling, Adams put his foot on the bottom step of the bus and refused the move it not allowing the driver to close the door.

Adams continued to yell at the driver and students stating that if any of them had a problem with his child that he was going to "F*** them up".  He eventually removed his foot but continued to yell threats.

Later that evening, 2 students initiated a "Safe 2 Say" entry reporting the incident.

Butler Township Police along with a supervisor from Rohrer Bus reviewed video from the bus which depicted exactly what was reported showing Adams yelling and threatening students then preventing the bus from pulling away because he had his foot on the step.

Adams will answer to the above charges on November 20th, 2024 during a preliminary hearing with Judge Tarantelli.
