HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Wilson Area Falls 35-0 to the Crimson Tide

The Pottsville Area Crimson Tide walked away with 35-0 victory over the Wilson Area Warriors on Friday night.

Pottsville set the tone early when Brayden Evans punched in a 2-yard touchdown run. Andrew Allen’s extra point put the Crimson Tide up 7-0, giving Pottsville an early lead in the opening quarter.

The second quarter was all about Tsirell Currry. Curry first electrified the crowd with a punt return for a touchdown. Allen's successful extra point made it 14-0.

Later in the quarter, Curry showcased his defensive skills with a pick-six, returning an interception for a touchdown to further extend Pottsville’s lead to 21-0. The Crimson Tide were not done, as Curry then connected with Andrew Allen on a 5-yard touchdown pass, putting Pottsville comfortably ahead 28-0 by halftime after another successful extra point.

In the third quarter, Pottsville's Brody Herndon added the finishing touch with a 3-yard rushing touchdown, sealing the 35-0 victory.

The win brings Pottsville’s record to 4-4, as they now look ahead to two pivotal matchups to close out the regular season. The Crimson Tide will hit the road to face Blue Mountain in Week 9 and North Schuylkill in Week 10, two teams they are familiar with. Pottsville’s playoff fate remains uncertain, as they currently sit in 5th place in District XI Class 4A, but this victory keeps their postseason hopes alive.

For the Wilson Area Warriors, the season's woes persisted. The loss drops them to 0-9 on the season. The Warriors will look to regroup and try to finish the season on a positive note as they return home for their final two games against Palisades and Notre Dame-Green Pond.
