Mrs. T's Pierogies Celebrates National Pierogy Day

On a crisp Tuesday morning, Mrs. T's Pierogies hosted its 16th annual Pierogy Day celebration in Shenandoah, marking yet another year of honoring the town’s connection to this beloved dish. 

Held adjacent to the borough hall, the event drew a small but enthusiastic crowd of community members eager to partake in the festivities.

The event kicked off with a traditional flag-raising ceremony, a symbolic gesture that has become a cornerstone of the celebration. Shenandoah’s deep-rooted ties to Mrs. T's Pierogies, a company that has become synonymous with the town itself. As the flag fluttered in the fall breeze, the crowd gathered to listen to a heartfelt address from Chris Dende, a representative of Mrs. T's Pierogies.

Dende thanked the Shenandoah community for their unwavering support of the brand, acknowledging the town's integral role in the company’s success. 

He also delved into the history of the pierogy, highlighting its humble origins as a dish meant to bring families together. He spoke of how Mrs. T's Pierogies embodies this idea by fostering a sense of warmth and connection around the dinner table, and shared how this year’s theme, “cozy,” represents more than just comfort food.
