Founded in 1952 by Ted Twardzik Sr., Mrs. T’s Pierogies started in the kitchen of his mother, Mary Twardzik, in Shenandoah. Ted’s vision of sharing his mother’s homemade pierogies with the wider community grew into one of the largest pierogy manufacturers in the country. Today, Mrs. T's Pierogies produces millions of pierogies each year, and the company remains based in Shenandoah, making it a local staple and a point of pride for the region.
National Pierogy Day was created to celebrate Mrs. T's Pierogies and the legacy of the Twardzik family and the enduring love for pierogies in or region and across the United States..
