A multi-alarm fire in Shenandoah has displaced several people.
Just after 10:00pm, Monday, emergency personnel were dispatched to 5 South Bower Street for a report of a house fire.
According to the dispatch, the fire originally came in as chimney fire but then the caller stated they could see flames on the side of the home.
As the fire chiefs and EMS arrived, they confirmed heavy smoke and flames coming from the 2nd floor of the home and called in a working fire.
All occupants had escaped the home and several animals were rescued. A 2nd alarm was dispatched calling in additional manpower.
By 11:15pm, the fire was brought under control.
The bulk of the fire was contained to the address but Shenandoah Fire Chief Rick Examitas reported that 7 South Bower Street and a connected structure on East Centre Street sustained damage.
Three people were displaced by the fire.
Chief Examitas has requested a State Police Fire Marshal to the scene to investigate a cause.
