After two years of planning and construction, the Onvo Travel Plaza at Highridge Industrial Park is finally coming to life in Schuylkill County.
In June 2021, Onvo, a hospitality company headquartered in Scranton, acquired a 37-acre property in Cass Township just off Exit 119 from Interstate 81 with the vision of transforming it into a state-of-the-art travel plaza. Construction began in Fall 2021, and since then, the project has progressed steadily toward its completion.
On Monday, the first establishment within the plaza, a Burger King, celebrated its soft opening, welcoming customers.
Additionally, the Food and Fly Convenience Store is set to hold its soft opening on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.
The grand opening will take place on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 10:00 AM, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony in collaboration with the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce. Community members and local leaders are invited to join the celebration of this new venture.
