Shirley M. Fessler, 70, of Summit Station, passed away Sunday, September 29th, at St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem.Born in Pottsville on November 27, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Albert F. Ebert, Jr. & Ethel E. (Bennethum) Ebert.
Shirley was the widow of Randall R. Fessler, Sr. who passed away in February of 2012.
She was a 1973 graduate of Pottsville Area High School.
Shirley was employed for the former Boltz's Knitting Mill, Pottsville.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Summer Hill, Auburn.
Shirley is survived by a son, Randy R. Fessler, husband of Elaine Martin, of Summit Station; a grandson, Trystain; a great-grandson, Oliver; son, Les Fessler, husband of Erin, Schuylkill Haven, a granddaughter, Emma; a brother, Albert F. Ebert, III, of Pottsville; and a sister, Mary Lord, of Seltzer.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley is also preceded in death by a brother, Harry C. Ebert and a sister, Alice Barket.
A graveside service will be held at Summer Hill Cemetery on Friday at 12:30 PM with Pastor Marie Meeks officiating.

He was employed by City Shirt and he was a Mahanoy Township Supervisor. He served with the Mahanoy Township 150 Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years , Louise Logan Bradbury, and his siblings, Mary Ann Bickowski, Ruth Lynch, Timothy, John, Donald, and Edward Jr. Bradbury. The love that Dan had for his wife Louise, was admirable. He was her primary care giver for 10 years before her passing. He took pride in his gardening skills so that he could provide fresh flowers for her.
Dan is survived by three daughters, Mary Theresa Christal and her husband Gary of Hawaii, Kathleen Mendinsky and her companion Jeffery Rodenroth of Barnesville, and Beth Guldin and her husband Greg of Frackville, siblings Lois, George, Patricia,, Jeff and Margaret, grandchildren Amanda, Danielle, Ashley, Justene, Alicia, Lindsey and Gregory, great grandchildren Justin, Marshall, Owen, Claire, Brady, Blake, Sadie, Reese, Teddy, and Anthony, nieces, nephews , and his good friend and neighbor Robbie Romanick.
Relatives and friends may call at the David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City on Monday from 9:30 to 11 AM. Interment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery in Mahanoy Township.
Contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to the Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA and will be accepted at the visitation.
Bruce L. "Skip" Neifert, husband, father, brother, pappy 76 years of age, of New Ringgold, Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 28, 2024, upon arrival at Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital Orwigsburg Campus.
Born Thursday, January 1, 1948 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Kenneth S. "Flick", and Eleanor R. (Fritz) Neifert. Bruce was also predeceased by; daughter, Sheila Brensinger; brother, Gary Neifert.
Surviving are; his beloved wife of 58 years, Grace M. (Kistler) Neifert son, Bruce "Butch" Neifert and his companion Gwen Bealer; daughters, Debra Boyer wife of Jeff , Denise Miller wife of Glenn; brother; Todd Neifert and his wife Bonnie; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; son-in-law Gary Brensinger. Nieces and nephews also survive Skip.
A member of Christ Church of McKeansburg, Skip retired from #1 Construction after over 30 years as a member of the United Steel Workers of America. Skip also operated Skip's Tires of New Ringgold for many years.
Skip belonged to the Lehighton Orioles Nest, West Penn Rod & Gun Club, Beaver Run Rod & Gun Club, and the New Ringgold Fire Company.
An avid outdoorsman, Skip was an ardent Philadelphia Eagles fan, and enjoyed watching NASCAR.

Kathleen T. Kline, 93, formerly of Pottsville, died Sunday at Providence Place Senior Living, Lancaster, PA.
She was born June 13, 1931 in Allentown, a daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Ferenchak Haas.
She was a 1949 graduate of Allentown High School.
Prior to retiring, she worked as a secretary at the Howard S. Fernsler Academic Center and the D.H.H. Lengel Middle School, Pottsville.
Kathleen was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, and the Coal Crackin Red Hats.
She was preceded in death by her husband and high school sweetheart, Kenneth H. Kline, Sr., on Aug 27, 2022; sisters, Mary Ann Kurtz, Emma Alich, Bernadine Derkits and Eleanor Scheirer; daughter-in-law, Wendy (Andrews) Kline.
Surviving are 4 sons, Kenneth H. Kline, Jr. and his wife Lori, Bethlehem; Todd R. Kline and his wife Kathleen, Easton; Dennis R. Kline and his wife Lori, Bel Air, MD; Scott C. Kline and his wife Carol, Landisville; a daughter, Melanie Schaeffer and her husband James, Lititz; 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday at James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9am until the time of services. Joseph J. Brehony, 90 of Pottsville died Sunday at Rosewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Schuylkill Haven.
He was born January 13, 1934 in Palo Alto a son of the late Joseph A. and Laura Barnes Brehony.
He attended the Port Carbon High School.
He was a Navy veteran having served during the Korean War,
Prior to retiring he was a custodian for the Pottsville Area School District.
Joe was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville and the former Mary Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, and the Buck Fever Rod & Run Club, all of Pottsville.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Parker.
Surviving are his wife, Rose Lukach Brehony; a daughter, Rose Doorly, and her husband Thomas, Pottsville; 1 granddaughter Alison Williams and her husband Shaun; 2 great-grandchildren, Coby and Brody Williams.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday Oct 8, at 10AM from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9AM until the time of services. Interment with military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
Tonya Marie Hicks, 47, of Tampa, FL, and formerly of Pottsville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 24th, in her residence.
Born in Pottsville, on March 4, 1977, she was a daughter of Wallace K. McFarland, of Pottsville, and the late Dorothy Hicks.
She was a graduate of Pottsville High School and Berks Technical Institute.
Tonya formerly worked as a Phlebotomist.
She was a very thoughtful, caring, and talented person who enjoyed cooking in her spare time.
Tonya is survived by her companion, Tommie Hampton, of FL; two sons: Marquis Hampton and Avery Hicks, both of FL; father, Wallace McFarland; two brothers: Derrick J. McFarland, husband of Heather, of Pottsville; Drew S. McFarland, companion of Yasmine, of Pottsville; nephews Derrick and Mason, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Jeanette J. Morgan, 87, of Llewellyn passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday morning.
Born on August 14, 1937, in Pottsville.
She was the daughter late Roy and Mary Bramley.
Jeanette attended Pottsville School District. She went on to serve as a nurse’s aid at York Terrace Nursing Home. Jeanette later worked as a matron at the Schuylkill County Women’s prison.
She was a member of First United Church of Christ in Pottsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all seven of her siblings. She is also preceded in death by her husband Joseph who passed away in 2016 and their son Michael who passed away last year.
Jeanette is survived by her children, Janet Dunleavy of Llewellyn and Joseph Morgan of Frackville. She is also survived by her grandchildren; James H. Dunleavy of Florida, James J. Dunleavy of Kernsville, NC, Marissa Morgan of Snowshoe, PA, Matthew Morgan of Arizona, Shelby Miller of Orwigsburg, Toni Berzowski of Pottsville, and Allyssa Stripling of Friedensburg along with Alexis Southam, who was a special granddaughter. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Monday at 11:00 A.M. on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park. Grabowski Funeral Home is entrusted with services.
